RE: [RC] Tevis Prep and horse info - Sheila A. WalshD'arcy, Look for Kathy Campbell and Teresa Cross who volunteered to manage the pulled horses information. (They got their ham radio licenses specifically for the Tevis.) They are going to be sure that each checkpoint on the trail will have the pulled horse information that includes exactly where the pulled horse is at what time and it's final destination. We had noticed that this information was missing on the year that I volunteered to crew for Teresa on the 50th anniversary; she pulled early in the race and we couldn't find her all day..... Let's all have a moment of happy thoughts for all entrants that they have a great day and no accidents, etc. Wish I was there!!! Mary was nice enough to meet with me at the Fairgrounds to show me where I am supposed to be tomorrow night. I wanted to share this with all of you. Standing in the stadium, knowing this is where the final parade of horses will be, at the end of their ride - was magical. There were quite a number of workers all over the grounds finalizing every last detail. I wish I had taken pictures. Because I know, by tomorrow night, it is going to look soo much different. Looking at the list of entries along with the riders names...was awe inspiring!! Seeing the 'empty' stalls - knowing between 10pm onwards, tomorrow, they will be full was an incredible feeling. Makes me wish I was able to be in a position to be there next year! :) For now, I am quite happy, to be a volunteer, to absorb all of the magic this ride has all around it, is enough for me. Please join me in a moment of silence and prayer to wish all of the horses, the riders, the crews, the Net Control people, and all of their volunteers, the best ever! It was very hot there today - and pray for cooler weather or at lesat a nice cool breeze! :) And God Bless you one and all for all of your support for this marvelous sport. D'Arcy D'Arcy L.
