Re: [RC] re:FEI Rules - Barbara McCrary

We do still excel at endurance as we know it. Just because we don't "excel" at the kind of game it has become in the hands of others doesn't mean we don't do it right here in this country. Look at the great horses in AERC...Jayel Super, RO Grand Sultan, Heraldic, RC Lad, and others too numerous to mention. These are the REAL endurance horses, IMO. I don't consider a horse that can run a flat 100 miler a couple of times and is never heard from again a REAL endurance horse. And I certainly cannot bear the thought of using horses for a few hot races and then being discarded. We ride ours, we love them, we care for them, we weep when they age and die, and we treasure them. This is endurance AERC style, and we should be proud of it.

Is it me, or has the U.S. been totally shut out of the
decision making process at the world level? Its like
its no longer our sport. We invented it, we brought it
to the world and led the way in world competition, and
then it was taken in a direction that we never
sanctioned, and turned into something very different
that we can no longer excel at.
