[RC] Analysis of pulls 1996 through 206 - Truman PrevattA study was done on the pulls in the years 1996 through 2006. The attached documents that studyhttp://www.seraonline.org/Archives/Pull%20analysis.pdf There were about 210,000 starts during that time. There are a few things that jump out. The number of day member rider starts have steadily decreased during the period. However, a day member rider is twice as likely to be pulled as a member. It also appears that the RO-M and RO-L pull categories did make a contribution to get a better reading of the pull profiles, but that is if the RO-M is bundled as a pull caused by a metabolic issue (or fear of a metabolic issue) and similarly for RO-L and lameness. It also appears that it did not introduce a biasing of the data (with the proper bundling mentioned above). In reality the RO-M/L categories (when bundled properly) appears to be making the database more accurate (and stable) for long term analysis of the sport.
