[RC] Survey re audio streaming of Hot Topics Workshops at AERC Convention - Oldwaggy
The Hot Topics workshops at the AERC Convention this year will focus on a
comprehensive presentation of the revision of the AERC prohibited
substance/treatment rule I have been drafting in consultation with our vet
committee. As we do every year, we will also share a summary of the
year's horse fatalities. It will be a lively discussion. The
workshops will occur from 8 to 9 on Friday and Saturday mornings and will not
interfere with any educational seminars.
Mike Maul has been investigating for me how we can allow people to
participate in the discussion who can't make it to the convention. He has
found that we can spend probably less than $500 total to permit live streaming
of these two sessions, audio only (which means you will miss my latest Hawaiian
shirt), over the internet. We would even organize a way for you to email
questions or comments back to us to read and respond to in real time. I
think this could be a lot of fun and provide a model for future AERC workshops
on controversial subjects, maybe even between conventions.
