RE: [RC] Rule change - Andrea BrandPoint taken. Guess in most other countries the sport is aimed at achieving international recognition, ignoring the comfort of the masses. In contrast to many countries, I do not believe that more than 10% of the riders in an AERC ride consider that they are practicing, preparing, of have any intention of ever competing at the international level. That means that rules aimed at helping practice for international competition are simply not relevant to the riders. There are FEI sanctioned rides in the US. They are run with FEI rules and full crews etc. That is where the <10% of AERC riders should practice for international competition. The speed of vet through can and is much faster when the rider is met by a full crew, than when he/she wanders into check (or finish line) alone or perhaps with one person to help. Neither is wrong, they are just different sports.
