Re: [RC] weird question, off topic, re land - Sisu West Ranch

The township-range system of land surveying (Canada may use different names but the idea is apparently the same) goes back very many years. One of the first jobs of a famous American (George Washington) was as surveyor for the crown in the opening of lands across the Appalachian Mts. Unless I misremember, this survey was done in that manner.
