Re: [RC] [RC] Pacing - aggiekrisIt's my guess that a lot of the "really nice trots" on horses that sometimes and have paced, are most likely foxtrots, With my guy, it's definately a pure trot. he's not sitable at all, you have to post, but it's a dream to post to, and effortless. Compared to my Arab mare, who is too smooth to post and too rough to sit, i just love this gelding. To those who like the pace...I cannot...just cannot imagine that you are actually riding a full pace and enjoying it. A stepping pace will have the side to side sway, and is a LOT less jarring - often even smooth. But, there is nothing smooth about a full pace. My other TWH will often get into a stepping pace, and it's somewhat comfortable, but you'd better hang on when he breaks into a pace - if the first stride doesn't launch you off to one side, the second will probably get you! I've ridden a foxtrotter who paced that was mighty uncomfortable, but this other TWH i have really does have a nice pace, and it's also a pure pace. He is a two beating kinda guy, apparently.
