Hey Steve, we used to go ride the NATRC ride in
Palos Verde's that Saundra Williams put on. Indeed, some of the BEST
conditioning and riding trails one could ask for. Where else could you ride
behind multi million dollar houses one min., looking into their back years, then
end up over along the cliffs and hills above the beach, with hardly a house in
sight. I loved riding over there!
Rushcreek Magi, AKA "Mouse", Bernice Kallands
gelding was another one of those hard to beat RC horses of the 80's. And I know
he was often used by ride and tie teams. One of the B-I-G-G-E-S-T
trots I have ever experienced, and the calmest, most laid back attitude. A
chest like a quarter horse. Big, and deep. Got to borrow him for a weekend to
mark trail. After that, my husband always wanted a RC horse. We ended up with
Gambler in 2003. Very different build and personality than others, but still
tough, and really fairly laid back.
If you have never seen one of the brands, here is a
photo of his. I like it. And when another Rushcreek owner sees it, or I see one
on their horse, we start talking about the horses, ranch, and see if our two are
related.
Looking at the photos of the horses from their
website that are for sale, I see nice bone in the legs, deep chest on most, and
I liked the back, shoulder, and over all substance.
