Re: [RC] Early training for the trail - Nancy Sturm

That's how I do it now, but when I was lots younger, tougher and braver, I
liked to take them out on trail early and alone.  Because the whole wide
world was so new, they actually seemed less spooky if they were introduced
to all the hard stuff while they were still kindergartners.  I thought they
paid better attention to me when they were not  following  another horse.

I still like to ride by myself  when I get the chance, but I do let a quiet
experienced horse babysit my new horses now.
