Anyone may join AERC and reach the criteria for entrance into the AERC Championship event citizenship or country of origin is not a stipulated criteria. It does require that enough forethought (and $s) be put into the effort to accomplish 300 miles with your mount (i.e you would need to travel to the US multiple times to do 3-6 rides within the qualification time-frame or have 1000 miles with your horse). Mr. Hasume of Japan riding Fayette de Cameo here this year under just such circumstances.
