Re: [RC] [RC] USEF Approves New Drug - Sisu West Ranch

I would be more easily persuaded that we should continue
to try to influence the USET if one or more of the following are
demonstrated to be true:
1. We had an actual vote on the USEF governing
board. It is my understanding that the AERC as an organization does not
actually have a vote.
2. If the AERC representation was from the AERC and not as
individuals through AERC-I, or that there was evidence that the AERC-I
individuals spoke out against the rule.
3. If the BOD of the AERC were to inform membership that
they did a particular action (even wrote a letter) to attempt to prevent this
rule.
4. If there were evidence that the USET does carefully
consult and consider the positions of the AERC.
In other words, I have always interpreted my Grandmother's
warning to relate to keeping bad company in such a manner that you appeared to
condone the improper actions.
When dealing with situations like this it is always a hard
decision to decide when the proper course of action is to publicly dissolve a
relationship. Thoughtful people often disagree.
A classic example of a thoughtful resolution of this type
of conundrum was published by the Continental Congress, July 4,
1776.
