Re: [RC] [RC] Feed question - Ranelle RubinNot to mention that the hay WE give them in captivity has been commercially grown, using often the same fields year after year with either chemical fertilizer or no fertilizer, and in some cases gravity flow irrigation which virtually strips the land of essential minerals like SELENIUM. IMO, unless you are drawing blood on your horses and adjusting their intake accordingly, which I know a very prominent endurance rider and international "coach" who does, you do your horse well to feed a maintenance dose of a good supplement. It is of course, everyone's choice as to what to feed their endurance horses, but when I see a horse tie up, get thumps, get ulcers, etc..I can't for a minute suspect the feeding or management program. JMO, but well researched and tried and true nonetheless~!
