I agree with Paul...Bear and I did this ride last year, and had a lot of fun.  It was surprisingly challenging.  And it was so neat, knowing that we were riding under the same moon as the Tevis riders!  The Mosshammers are great fun, and do a great job managing the ride!!!  They even had a big tub of ice full of bottled water at the halfway point on the loops, along with small packages of snacks! 

 

Like Paul, I'll be at Tevis this year, so won't be able to partake of their cheerful hospitality.  But the rest of y'all head on up (or over) there and support them and enjoy the Oklahoma moon!

That's a no-brainer. You can ride the Mid-Summer Nights Madness in Oklahoma.  There will be heat, and hills (just like Tevis). You will ride a long ways in the dark (just like Tevis). With all the rain they have had lately, they can't promise dust like in most years. This ride is a great prep for those in the central part of the country who hope to do Tevis some day. You can practice 50 mile rides almost any weekend of the year, but a 50 mile night ride in the heat comes along more seldom. Wouldn't it be better to develop your night lighting and night riding  skills now instead of at the 75 mile marker on the Tevis trail?

 

These are very nice folks putting on a relaxed fun ride.  I did it last year, and completing it gave me the confidence that led me to my first 100 this year and now on July 28th a trip to California to try Tevis. If we hadn't done MSNM last year, we wouldn't have done the Old Dominion 100 and signed up for the Western States Trail Ride this year.
