[RC] Please keep your sick horses home - Kristi SchaafHi all - Last month there was an endurance clinic held in my region. An acquaintance took her horse and had a great time. She did notice that one of the volunteers had a horse on site that was sick (very snotty nose), so when that person came up to take her horse's heartrate, she asked if the person had washed her hands and was told yes. Well, unfortunately she learned the hard way that simple hand washing won't stop the spread of strangles. Her horse now has bastard strangles and is VERY ill, with catastrophic vet bills and liver and kidney damage. Please please please leave your horses home if they aren't 100%. This woman may very well lose her horse due to someone thinking that it was fine to bring a snotty-nosed horse to a public event. Kristi Life's a journey, so enjoy the ride (and try not to fall off) ____________________________________________________________________________________ Need a vacation?
