Re: [RC] You have no clue....and neither do (or can) I - jamie ward

First off I guess some of my statements made me sound like an environmentalist ( no) I meant the statement as a description of what it feels like for ME to be away from my daily BUSY life.  I am well aware of civilization being more then 200 yrs old that is just a time period that interest me ( pre-1800s actuly) as most my ancestors were Indians. The technology i was speaking of was cars and phones and that sort of thing,I also understand I can never truly know what it was like but whats the harm of  feeling "removed"while on my training rides if even for a while :-)

Pretty shrewd observations, Kat. I would think one of the feelings most
prominent about living as it was 200 years ago would be fear. Fear of being
attacked, fear of not finding water, fear of not having enough to eat, fear
of being lost, fear of being injured or ill and knowing there was no medical
help (such as it was then, anyway.) I have loved riding along a pioneer
trail and trying to feel what it would be like to have been among the early
travelers there, but it just isn't the same, because I don't have that fear.
