RE: [RC] Question for Ride Managers- beet pulp - Sheila_LarsenWell I have one horses that will absolutely not eat it and another that eats a little but doesn't really like it. And why would I want to feed a horse at an endurance ride that has a calcium:potassium imbalance, but if they would eat it I would let them but hey they won't. Just like I don't feed straight alfalfa at home but at a ride t hey can eat whatever their little hearts desire, which is NOT bran mash LOLOLOL. Thanks, Sheila 916.414.6685 The wind flew. God told to wind to condense itself and out of the flurry came the horse. But with the spark of spirit the horse flew by the wind itself. - Marguerite Henry's King of the Wind "speters" <speters@xxxxxxxx gov> To <Sheila_Larsen@xxxxxxx>, 06/27/2007 12:50 <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> PM cc Subject RE: [RC] Question for Ride Managers- beet pulp MAYBE BECAUSE SOME HORSES DO NOT LIKE BEET PULP, BUT I'VE NEVER FOUND ONE THAT WON'T EAT A BRAN MASH !!!!!!!! -----Original Message----- From: ridecamp-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ridecamp-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Sheila_Larsen@xxxxxxx Sent: June 27, 2007 9:26 AM To: ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [RC] Question for Ride Managers- beet pulp I don't know about the east coast but here on the west coast ride managers provide a bran mash instead of beet pulp. I personally don't know many people that feed bran mashes very often if at all, but most do feed beet pulp. The cost is about the same so I am curious why bran instead of beet pulp. My personal interest is neither of my horses are very enthralled with bran, well actually one of my horses won't eat it at all, so I end up trying to get some beet pulp to the out of camp vet checks. Since bran isn't balanced and beet pulp is more balance, I asked an endurance vet if he had any idea (was I missing knowledge of some benefit). He said no old habits just die hard. So one vote for beet pulp instead of bran. Thanks, Sheila The wind flew. God told to wind to condense itself and out of the flurry came the horse.
