Re: [RC] High Corn Prices............ - Angie Fura

Bob - the correct term is "tree hugger."    And you are correct that we (and I say "we" because I am one of them) are the main reason that the environment in Alaska and other places is not raped of natural resources.   Human kind is using fossil fuels at a rate faster than the earth can replenish them.  Drilling more and building more refineries will only address the symptoms of this issue which are inflated prices and dependence on foriegn oil.  For a meaningful solution, we need to address the root cause which involves finding a sustainable energy source.  We need to find other fuel sources now or this problem will be greatly magnified for future generations.

Although corn ethanol requires about as much energy as it produces, at least it supports our American farmers and our economy.

Subject: [RC] High Corn Prices............

Lets call a spade a spade,
This is a trickle down effect caused by the bunny huggers who constantly lobby against new refinery development.  The response from the gal who asked whats up with Utah, your right!!  Whats up!! We are limited by exploration and refinement capacity. Between the potential of Alaska,Utah, and off shore we could supply more than what a few acres of corn can provide.  It all comes down to increasing our refinery capabilities.
bcf sounding off.
