RE: [RC] overinflated corn prices/oil in shale - way OT! - Smith, DaveOh yeah, and the FBI came in and threatened him for finding a solution to our energy woes and now his life is a mess...sounds like a real thriller to me. I can just see the movie starring George Clooney and Meryl Streep! While I'm not arguing for or against using FSA 333, or endorsing this inventor, the thing to pay attention to about this article regarding oil shales is this: "obtained several kilograms of shale rock, CRUSHED IT, heated it to about 200 F, added FSA and cold water, and then BANG! You get this huge segment of oil on the top". If this method worked, imagine how obtaining the oil shale would change from a relatively simple process of drilling a well, to a highly involved mining operation. Most of these oil shale are not shallow. A shallow well (depending on the basin of course) is a mile deep. An average well is two miles deep. Don't know about you guys, but I kinda like Utah the way it is without adding more and bigger holes. Karen E.
