[RC] Assisi results - 'Grand Prix' style finish - Steph TeeterFollowing are results from the June 23 Assisi ride. Merri Meldi was there taking photos and enjoying the gala event. Photos, results, links, etc can be found athttp://www.endurance.net/international/italy/2007assis/ We'll add Merri's stories to this site as they come. The ride organizers used the 'Grand Prix' finish for this event. According to the printed FEI Schedule: "The overall placing will be taken, 30 min. after the arrival of the 1st rider to successfully pass the vetting, considering for the placing of all the other riders, at the conclusion of the phase they are actually running (with the relevant subsequent pasing of the vet check) at the time the winner finishes the course" So 30 minutes after the winner crossed the line, the vet gates were closed. If a rider was on the course at that time they finished the loop they were on. Otherwise they stop a the vetgate. It appears from the results that the first 13 arrived at the Finish line, and 14 - 20 got their final time upon arrival at Gate 5. To my knowledge, this is the first Endurance event to use this type of finish. An interesting concept - Steph
