You can find a Barefoot and other treeless on
ebay or tacktrader.com or equine.com. I've seen them also on endurance.net under
classifieds. Many times they are barely used and you save a bundle. I have a Bob
Marshall (15-1/2) sports saddle and a Barefoot Cheyenne (size 1) I will be
selling soon as I am buying a Sensation treeless and my daughter is liking
riding in the Cashel Soft saddle. There are lots and lots of treeless saddles on
the market. I would recommend getting a quality used saddle rather than a
cheaply made new saddle.
I use a Barefoot Cheyenne. Both of my horses move very nicely in
it, and it's extremely comfortable for me. It's about $600, without
girth, leathers, and stirrups. You can get it with western fenders or
English leathers, whichever you prefer...I have the English leathers.
I've also used a Bob Marshall sport saddle and liked it, although I like the
Barefoot better. You should try a Bob Marshall before you buy one...some
find that the lack of a twist (the wide flat seat) is very uncomfortable
on their hips.
I know a number of people who use Freeforms and love them. At the
time I got my Barefoot, the cost was the factor for me.
Hello, I
have a horse who does not fit in any saddle I have or have purchased.
I have decided to try a treeless saddle. I am looking to find something
under $500. What saddles have you guys found to be worth the money? Bob
Marshall? Hillason?
