[RC] hay/sticker shock?! - Kathie Ford8.50 a bale is cheap! It's been close to 16.00 p/bale here in Auburn, CA. and I was just told by a the local hay supplier (endurance rider himself) that they are charging about 23.00 p/bale this summer in San Diego for Orchard Grass. Is this true?????? Good grief...I won't buy Orchard anymore. Found other types cheaper. I also made a point to the suppliers in general, that I won't even be interested at those prices. Have to put our foot down somehow. I know for the most part they can't help it either. But, I do know they can vary the mark-up. So I by hay from "client" friendly suppliers who still need to make a profit for their business of course, but still try to be fair to their consumers. Also looking for property w/pasture. So that will help!
