[RC] Spinal Arthritis - Lisa DouglassHi Dr. Q, I hope Ridecamp doesn't mind us writing back and forth as I'm finding this a very good learning experience, and hope others are as well. This vet I'm going to is a large animal DVM, and has been for the last 30 years or so. He also specializes in lameness problems. For the last 7 years or so he has focused on alternative therapies, and it well known and well respected in our area for all he does. Of course that doesn't mean he's perfect by any means, nor does that mean he may not know what is going on with my horse, so he's shooting in the dark. Money is so dear, I don't want to be covering up the problem and not finding out exactly what this chronic condition actually is. Sounds like that's what I've been doing for the last couple of years. OK, dumb question. What do you mean by "certified in manual medicine/manipulation." I've never heard of the terms manual medicine or manual manipulation. We do have other well-respected large animal vets in our area. Do I call and just ask if they are certified in these areas? THANK YOU.
