[RC] New Sweet Feed - Don Huston

I have fed a lot of different mixtures of grains, sometimes unprocessed like whole oats, sometimes pelleted like Performance606, with and without molasses. Usually I stay with a mixture (mine or commercial) for at least a year to see how the horses responded. Several years ago Dr.Q mentioned the benefits of Diamond V Yeast and I added it to my mixture at the time of whole oats and Walkers (sweet feed) served wet like a mash. Horses did good same as ever then last Christmas I could not get the yeast anymore and I was tired of the mixing hassle. The feed store had a new mix called "Integrity Adult/Senior" from Star Milling Co. www.starmilling.com. It had everything plus the Diamond V Yeast. So now after 6 months of feeding just Integrity with a little water and their forever standard small flakes of alfalfa, the horses look the best ever with no mixing or supplement hassles. Also my 11yo picky eater enduro horse now keeps his head in the pan until it's licked clean and has been putting on a little weight and I'm feeding him HALF of the amount he got of my old homemade mix. Those of you that have been thinking that your horse could use a better mix with less hassle might look into this "Integrity Adult/Senior", my 3 love it.
