[RC] Black bears and rabies - D'Arcy Demianoff-ThompsonI came across this site and found it a bit interesting. Gave me a lot of food for thought when out on the trail. http://www.southeasternoutdoors.com/wildlife/mammals/black-bear-attacks-fatal.html We are having our own little wildlife adventure in the Pleasant Valley area of Placerville. We have two mountain lions that seem to be quite at home living among the residential community. They have been spotted frequently up on Kruk Trail. They are spotted between 5am and 6am in the morning. When I ride my mare up there around 10am there isn't anything except a few scatterings of deer and wild turkeys. I have noticed the deer population and the turkey population has been decreasing. Now, that could be due to the time of the year as well. At any rate it is interesting how the residents have acclimated to the wildlife. They have changed their walk schedules on Kruk Trail and/or they have gone to PVS track to do their walks instead. I love that. Man working with nature instead of against nature. --- sherman <sherman@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Do bears get rabies?
