Re: [RC] bears in cool - D'Arcy Demianoff-ThompsonHi Kathy, I called the Auburn Stat Rec Area. They have no idea what I was talking about and will investigate and give me a call back. Hopefully I can diseminate the information when someone calls back. If anyone has a name of the Ranger that was called to the site that would be great. As my understanding of the situation is that the bear was disorientated. I would think it important to know and understand why. If there are organic problems in the area that threaten the wildlife that information would be valuable to know. If this was from an injury it would be good know what kind of an injury. If it was an injury and it was human created then riders should be made aware of that. Gold Country has a ride coming up. And, of course, there is Tevis right around the corner. So, as the old saying goes..."to be forewarned is to be forearmed!" Unfortunately, pressure from many 'tourist' type organizations may make the information highway slow at relaying facts and figures accordingly! D'Arcy L.
