RE: [RC] Horse balls and Parelli - Smith, DaveI would like to echo Kristi's point, Parelli Natural Horsemanship is not just a list of tasks to be completed, but a system, using the horse's natural behavior, to build a trusting bond between you and your horse. What the Parellis teach is that a solid relationship with your equine is far more important than some list of techniques employed to solve this or that "problem." One of the things I've learned from the PNH is that if I'm experiencing a problem with my horse it is because I have failed to properly communicate what I want my horse to do. It is not his/her fault if he/she doesn't understand what is required. It is up to me to find a way to get through to my horse. Parelli teaches you how to relate to your particular animal, based on its individual "horseanality", in order to find a way for your horse to hear your message. Thanks to their teaching, I can truthfully say that I've never been angered by my horses, only by my temporary inability to communicate with them. --Dave -----Original Message----- From: ridecamp-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ridecamp-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Kristi Schaaf Sent: Friday, June 01, 2007 7:02 AM To: ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [RC] Horse balls and Parelli Dolores wrote: Get a dressage whip, a plain old halter, some yacht line that feels good in your hand and a nice snap. Then, download the levels tests (I have them if you can't find them). ___________________________ Oh no no no. PNH is so much more than that; it's not about the TESTS, it's about building a partnership with your horse! They have expanded their program to include a TON of stuff about horse psychology and reading your horse. Go to Ebay to find used prices on the new L1 kit (the one with the DVDs); another pack that I recently bought and find to be gold is the Liberty and Horse Behavior DVD set. And yes, PNH 'stuff' isn't cheap, but I've found that the stuff I've bought and kept (leads, halters) is worth the price, and the stuff I don't keep, I can sell for not much less than what I paid. And saving my life...priceless. Kristi Life's a journey, so enjoy the ride (and try not to fall off) __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
