Chrystal - I don’t know about the weather getting better as the season goes on. There are derned few of us who can forget an endurance ride we attended in mid-July a few years ago along the Ghost River in the high country, northwest of Calgary. It just started out bad and got worse. Rain, then snow, then more rain that created ice-cold lakes where the trail had been. My horse lost both her front shoes and then one of two Easy Boots in the mud. My gloves were soaked. My hands were like lobster claws when I finally finished and the horse wouldn’t trot on anything but grass because her front were sore from the rocks. Never in my lifetime has a dry pair of socks felt so good.

So when the sun broke through last Friday and we got a beautiful warm day on Saturday, you can bet your last beer that we were all happy to get out there and ride.
