Re: [RC] Breast plate lights - rides2farThe lights in the catalog are not what I am looking for either. The light I am looking for actually shines ahead and lights up the trail. You could buy a fancy one for a few hundred or a > simple> one for $50-$60. Whoa! What are you looking for...spot lights? >g< The flourescent light throws out a pool of light maybe 8' in front of your horse. I would not put anything that shined a beam out in front...for one thing if you're riding behind someone and make *their* horse throw strange shadows out front you'll bother them, and anything that looks like a beam is going to bob with the motion of the horse and be irritating. Before you spend a ton, try a cheap one from Home Depot and go out at night and see how you like it. I think it's the perfect amount of light. At the last ride I was worried that my flourescent one needed a backup in case it breaks and ran by Walmart. The ones they had were not flourescent and didn't do as good of a job. Go for the flourescent if you buy the "6" 4AA closet light" Angie =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
