Re: [RC] Sued for Speed - where Trail Masters can help - Angie Fura

The AERC Trail Masters program is an excellent resource to learn how to build and maintain safe multi-use trails.  One of the principles of the course is how to build trail in such a way that all users have a clear line of sight.  Accidents happen when sharp turns or obstacles such as trees or boulders create surprises.

A Trail Master can certainly help identify opportunities for improvement and provide insight on these issues.   I'd encourage anyone that is struggling with this to contact their local Trail Master.

I have also been researching the whole issue of single track, versus multi
use trails...what I have found is that most Bay ARea regional parks, many
county parks and Pt. Reyes national seashore have pretty stringent guidlines
for what constitures multi use trails
