I want to be able to picture myself there while I'm riding the conditioning rides this month. Vet check has shade. Trail is rolling lots of up and down but nothing long. Tends to have lots of very hard packed dirt road with some big gravel. There's a good sized river you cross a couple of times that's good for cooling off. If you'll manage your shade/sun (trot in sun till you get in the shade and slow down there if you want to walk any) you can handle the heat. Make sure you bring the sponge. It's got quite a bit of shade. I've finished it lots of times, won it once. Don't let the core temp get high, I walk up the hills when it's hot or mine cook. I never pad but I've put easyboots over shoes and done it twice. That's what we did last year, easyboots in front over the shoes.
