Hi
Just like in the US it varies for each horse, mostly
according to the rider's opinion on electrolytes, but
also depends a lot on where you live.
If it it possible to generalise across the country,
the baseline is a dose the night before and one during
or after each leg. Very few would be getting no
electrolytes over the course of a ride. I have yet to
come across one of our vets here who endorse a no
added electroltye protocol.
Unclipped horses tend to get more because they sweat a
lot more.
