[RC] Pulse rates - Jay RandleHi AllAs an addition to my previous post, let me tell you about our pulse rates. In a Training ride (40km), ALL horses must pulse down to 55bpm within 30 minutes of completion of each phase of the ride. Some Training rides have 2 legs (of approximately 20km each), and some are only one leg, however the pulse criteria is 55bpm within 30 minutes of arrival (across the line) for each type of Training ride. At this 30 minute time check, the complete Veterinary examination is done as well, and the horse must pass all criteria. In an 80km ride or longer, ALL horses must pulse down to 55bpm within 30 minutes of completion of the first phase of the ride (and must also pass a complete Veterinary examination then too), and then ALL horses must pulse down to 60bpm within 30 minutes of completion of each subsequent leg of the ride, including the finish. The entire Veterinary examination takes place at the 30 minute mark in each case, too.
