RE: [RC] Other thoughts to protect horses - Kristen A FisherThere's another thought that has occurred to me - during a ride you have 30 mins to reach pulse criteria, then can vet through immediately or much much later; you'll just end up leaving after your out time. What happens if logistically at the end of a ride, and you are in camp, and it is not possible to vet through within 30 mins - maybe a horse is being treated, there is a glut at the VC, etc. You don't have the luxury of just "leaving after your out time" - so if you miss your 30 min window through no fault of your own, are you DQ? This just gets riper with age. So far I have not seen anyone address the "finish line a mile out" issue. The proposers must feel if they don't address it - it will go away. I guess we will just have to cancel the BSF and disappoint those that have come to love this ride because the finish line is too far out to fit within AERC rules :-\ . Hopefully this bonehead proposal is DOA at the board. Truman =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
