[RC] Barbaro - Donna Coss

This horse has NOT been suffering! There have been daily reports about him and he has had the best of care
each and every hour and the owner and veterinarian agreed at the beginning that if he were suffering they
would put him down. Almost every day, he has made progress, mainly because he has a temperament that
has allowed him to adjust to everything without struggling and with a great attitude.

When he first went into a sling to relieve pressure on his good leg, he actually learned to sit in the sling, which
is almost never seen. For the past several months now, he goes outside on a long lead to graze. His broken leg
is healed and the brace etc. have been off for several weeks. He now just has a special shoe on the hoof with
laminitis. What happens to that foot is the key to everything, but normal hoof wall is growing back, it just takes
a long time.

So if there is a chance Barbaro can lead a fairly normal life one day, is comfortable, bright and seems to
be without pain and has a good appetite etc., why would one want to euthanize an animal with such heart
and spirt? DJC
