Re: [RC] re: ROC 1987-musings - Truman PrevattBack when in service to Her Majesty the Queen - they kept trying to make me a "manager." I told them they would live to regret it. This old cowboy prided himself on bending and even at times "forgetting" the rules. It would be quite difficult to be the one that had to enforce them. They did twice and I proved what a big mistake they made twice. The guys and gals that worked for me either loved it or hated it. I had guys trying to get in my group. Most of them are now well into the higher reaches of their agency or company and it is always good to visit with them - hell the shoe is on the other foot and I work for a few now. Either they keep me around to remind them what not to do or to punish me - I haven't figured out which yet ;-) ! That's basically why I was attracted to endurance riding - few rules and most are based on common sense and decent behavior. It is one person / one horse and the trail. Riding endurance is about growing a set and pushing the envelope. It doesn't get much better than that - now does it?
