[RC] When are you an endurance horse? - Jay RandleHi AllIn Australia, the answer to this question is very clear. No horse here can be called an "endurance horse" until it has successfully completed 3 x 80km (50 mile) rides. Up until that stage, a horse is considered to be a "novice horse", and cannot be advertised as an "endurance horse". LD rides (what we call 'training rides') do not count towards any mileage that the horse may accumulate. As all of our horses competing in 80km rides have a personal logbook that goes with the horse, all ride records are easily viewed by a potential buyer.
