I have experience with them both.
For my horse, they didn’t work. They were too bulky and
heavy. They made him wing (both brands, which seem to have very similar
properties) and he’s never done that before or since. My horse
moves very efficiently and rather close, both front and rear. I don’t
have any trouble with him interfering either barefoot or correctly shod.
But, he does seem to be boot challenged with most of the boots. But, the
Cavallo and Old Macs were two of the worst ones for him (besides the Marquis
which was at the top of the “bad” list).
I do know several people whose horses have
done well in the Old Macs. I think it depends on your horse and I don’t
think you’ll really know until you try them.
