[RC] Fuel costs and other things in Australia - Jay RandleHi AllWe are paying $1.28 per litre for unleaded fuel here at the moment. $1.15 per litre for deisel. We are paying $15.40 per small bale of meadow hay at the moment, $26.00 for alfalfa. It is costing me about $60 per week to feed each working horse just hay, with another $40 per week each horse for mixed feeds. We travel about 2 - 6 hours to get to most of our rides, although some are 8 hours or more away. I have 16 endurance horses in work at the moment, and usually take 7 to each ride (5 in a truck and 2 in a bumper pull trailer). I have another 20 horses that I am handfeeding each day due to the drastic drought that we are experiencing. There is absolutely no pasture, dust everywhere, and horses are a dime a dozen at the moment! Each of these horses is costing about $50 per week to feed.
