I don't think it worked in the past because we used less gas, because we didn't use less gas. It was because we, as a country, made a statement and took it seriously enough to get together and make that statement loud and clear. The companies lowered prices because they didn't want us to speak louder and do something more drastic. I think that was the theory behind why it worked before and why it may work again. Who knows, maybe it wont work at all, but we can try. And if it doesn't work, then we can take another step and try something more drastic.
I have lupus, I am a full time student and I live to ride. If the gas prices keep going up as they are, I will not be able to go to the endurance rides. I have to be physically active in order to live a normal life due to my illness. Riding literally keeps me going. So I am willing to do what EVER it takes to keep riding. It is more than a sport to me...it is my life blood. ...so if that means staying away from the gas stations one day, then I see no reason why we cant just try this little easy step. Does anyone have a better idea that the entire country can participate in so easily?
