Re: [RC] Pulse Box's - Drin BeckerWhen I managed my ride in 2005 we used a pulse box system that I borrowed from Darlene Patterson of The Posse Ride .All my checks were in camp so I positioned it so the riders came into camp , they could hit the water , drink, sponge ,pull saddles if they wanted and then it flowed to the pulse box which was two chalked out rectangles side by side and large enough to have two horses in line in each box . I had two people on each box one taking the pulse and one recording . You would walk into the pulse box , if your pulse was down then you would go out the other end of the box to the vet line if your pulse was not down you had to circle around and get in line again IF there was a line otherwise you could stay in the box until the pulse was down . I loved using the box at Darlene's ride and I got lots of praise for it at mine . It saves allot of yelling from the riders , and the hectic running around for the pulse takers .Drin Becker Mtn Region =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
