And remember, if you are going to keep it on your bed all the time, with "stuff" in it, make sure you find a box with a good locking system on it. Not all boxes are created equal. Some will only have one lock on one side of the box, and those are easily broken into. The one I have has a bar, for lack of a bettter description, that goes all the way across the front of the box, making it darn near impossible to pry open.
Also, look at the construction of the box, again, not all are of the same quality...

Boxes that rise no higher than bed rail level are available.

I am thinking of getting one of those boxes that fit in the front of the bed of the truck - like construction workers have.  It would hold so much stuff.  Anyway, does this work if I am pulling a gooseneck?
