Re: [RC] Boldness - rides2farI gotta agree, selection as a cavlary horse would require a selection for a certain degree of boldness. Timid horses would have to have been removed from the gene pool long ago. I think that would depend on whether you spent more time attacking or retreating. Bold horses out front would make easy targets. :-) One of my favorite stories from the book "Mary Chestnut's Civil War Diary" was of her husband acquiring a new TB which he rode into battle. When they said, "Charge" it took off with a blast of speed that left all the other horses from his unit behind and he was charging full force far ahead of his men into the enemy line with a dead runaway. Fortunately, the Yanks figured any cavalryman that bold must be Jeb Stuart so they paniced and ran. :-) Angie =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
