David Ketscher in CA did CDE carriage driving
events with a lovely mule named "Mariah Carey". She was a pretty grey color, and
her dam was an Arab. Indeed, the Arab registry does not allow 1/2 Arab
registration for mules. I would guess that deep down inside, they would
not want a "mule" to go to an Arabian show and beat their horses. hehe
Mules have not gotten recognition in international events except for endurance
for years. In fact, they were not allowed to compete. (I think that is being
changed) Imagine a mule going to a FEI dressage show and kicking butt against
those warmbloods. <snicker> Anyway, Davids mule was a
nice, nice one, that did very well in Combined Driving events. We joked to him
that when he was asked to write in what breed his animal was on entries, to
write in "Desert Warmblood"
