If that time is chosen - nothing on earth is native.How long does a species have to disappear that when it returns it is not longer native or "invasive?" At what instant in time did we stop the clock and declare - this is what the world looked like and any changes will be considered non-native? The whole question of native and non-native gets wrapped around the axle because in most respect the designation of native is somewhat arbitrary and in some cases arbitrary and capricious. Eco systems evolve - they respond to different stimuli and unbalanced external just like any system. These forces change over time - ice age to global warming. If the predictions are true and I expect that have a high probability of being accurate - what happens when the polar bear disappears from a large portion of its current habitat maybe find some refuge in some isolated corner of the earth.
