Hee, someone responded privately and pointed out that there are prizes for half-Arabs.  That's a good enough reason for me!

And Milroy asked why people registered geldings - I assumed that they'd been registered as stud colts, then gelded when they were somewhat older.

Anyway, sorry to be too serious about your joke!  But I learned something, so it's all good.
