[RC] My endurance horse died in a pasture accident - heidi larsonMy 22 year old ex endurance horse had an accident in the mud pasture yest. He came in last (he's herd leader and so this was red flag #1) and was walking oh...so...slowly. He has some scrapes on the inside of his right stifle, I clipped them, washed and applied antibiotic ointment, but this morning there is a swollen area above the highest scrape (this scrape had a tiny puncture from a stick) and it's pretty hot to the touch. Vet is called and I'm sitting here waiting to hear back from the vet about when he can see him. Keep your fingers crossed that it's just minor and that some more cleaning and oral antibiotics will do the trick. (He just received his vaccines w/Tetanus 2-3 weeks ago!) He's a crotchety old man but still my darling! I fear he's getting knocked off the top of the food chain by my current endurance horse that is learning he can put the old man in his place! o o o o o_ \ \____ o_ \_\ (*)~(*)\_______/ / \ \______/ / \_______/\ /- o-- /_/ \ / / \ / / o o o-- / / \ o o ____________________________________________________________________________________ Food fight?
