[RC] Smith, Dave - sherman

IF a set of steel shoes lasts 6 weeks of being worn 24/7, that’s over 1000 hours. Since the horse only wears the boots while being ridden, it’s easy to see that they will last much longer than  6 weeks. I have a set of EasyBoots that Sonny has been using, on & off, for nearly a year, as we go barefoot when the footing allows. I have had to replace a lost boot, and had two cables replaced, but the boots show little signs of wear. Our trails are hard packed dirt & rock, and sometimes we do several miles of hard packed gravel.

OTOH, a friend was also using boots, used too big a size which twisted and caused the horse to drag it a bit, and actually wore a hole thru the front after very little trail time.
