I read with interest the several postings about
manufacturers competing with retailers (I agree with most of those comments)
and also about the lack of product selection and knowledgeable staff at local
tack stores.
What I missed in the posts were any comments about the
numerous endurance specific vendors who frequent rides in all the regions and
show up at AERC and regional
conventions. These vendors know the endurance sport, participate in the
endurance sport and, many times, are involved in actively supporting endurance riding
(volunteering at rides, donations of products for ride awards, etc.).
I hope you will turn to them when you have a need or a
question. Many times those vendors will have a broader product knowledge base
and can offer more in depth advice than calling a manufacturer. The endurance
vendors are here to serve you, the endurance rider. Use us!
