Re: [RC] [RC] Garlic as a natural wormer - Sheila_Larsen - Rachel RosenblumI beg to differ on the mosquito-deterrent properties of garlic. For YEARS I have gotten eaten alive outdoors in the warm months.... grew up in NJ & the skeeters there are vicious! My old TB eventer faced the same fate till I started feeding him garlic powder. The poor guy is very sensitive to bites & got a new large welt every time he was bit..... in the summer I called him "Lumpy". Someone had mentioned to me that garlic might work & it sure did! In the 5yrs we've lived in the Sacramento valley, he's had maybe 3 or 4 welts..... the skeeters here are dense due to the rice patties. So I decided to try it myself.... 2 "odorless" garlic tabs every morning. At one point I ran out & couldn't get more for about a week..... within 3 days I was getting all bit up again. Started taking it again & the bites stopped. I don't even here them buzzing around my head anymore! ____________________________________________________________________________________ Never miss an email again! Yahoo!
