RE: [RC] [RC] love the recruitment stories!!! - Ranelle RubinJen,A cute note on a junior recruitment: I started a junior who was the dtr of my boyfriend at the time in endurance when she was 13. She did her first 50 that year. At the awards dinner, I introduced her to Julie Suhr. Julie asked her how her horse was doing and then had a great conversation with her about her day. At the end of the conversation, she kissed Heather's forehead and welcomed her to our sport. When we were home, I got on the AERC records and showed Heather who Julie was in our world of stats..she was in awe..! Last year, Heather (who is now 18) helped me crew Tevis for a friend and spent some time talking with Julie..it was a special time for them both..Julie is certainly "The Grande Dame" of our sport!
